Spelling - This list will be updated by the evening of
Sunday, January 28, 2018!
The spelling words for each week will be attached to the Reading Homework agenda. They will be on a pink sheet of paper.
THESE ARE THE SAME SPELLING WORDS AS LAST WEEK. IT WAS A SHORT WEEK IN SCHOOL AND SO I FELT THAT YOUR STUDENT DID NOT GET ENOUGH TIME SPENT ON THEM IN CLASS FOR THEM TO BE TESTED ON THEM LAST FRIDAY. THE 2ND PRACTICE WILL BENEFIT THEM BECAUSE THE SOUND SPELLINGS THIS WEEK ARE DIFFICULT FOR THEM TO UNDERSTAND.
If by chance your attached spelling list gets misplaced there is a list below:
Focus: I can write words with the Sound Spellings for the words with the r-controlled vowels:
er ir ur or
1. clerk 6. churn
2. herd 7. hurt
3. first 8. burst
4. skirt 9. work
5. stir 10. worse
Bonus Words

HOMEWORK TURNED IN TODAY
Review, Go Math! Testing and 36's Testing
REVIEW ANY WORK PRIOR TO THIS THAT COMES HOME WITH YOUR STUDENT!!!
These lessons are directed to teach your student how to think about math in a problem solving approach that stretches their thinking from just being able to answer a question. Be patient with your child (and yourself) if they may seem difficult when you are reviewing the concepts together. We are using many manipulatives, pictures and journaling to problem solve the questions that are asked.
If you don't know how to help your child with a concept or specific question they don't understand write me a note
Together, we, will be able to problem solve together to come up with added help for a concern.
It's okay!
Smile and be happy!
Every child appreciates it when
adult has difficulty with a problem!
It turns us into real people.
Sometimes your student might be struggling with a concept taught during the day. If there is a note from me to review, rethink, and return that is the case. PLEASE review any math sheets that come home with this note on them. Then return them the next day.
Be sure to sign your child's Math Homework Agenda each weekday. Then return the signed agenda in their red folder on the last day of the week.

Music and Art This Week
Art
Our class does not have fine arts this week on Wednesday at 11:30.
Our class has been so busy that it is hard to always work art into our schedule. Hopefully we will have more time this week to be creative during class. We are working on Holiday art.
The scheduled fine art time for our class is every other Wednesday at 11:30 - 12:15. (Jan. 31)
Music
There is not any formal music taking place as a grade level.
